2018 Ford Territory Changes, Rumors
The 2018 Ford Territory is the latest incarnation of Ford’s popular SUV and is set to be launched with some design overhauls. The Ford’s Territory has been ruling the roads since 2004. This premium SUV has sold more than 200,000 units since its initial launch. Its design and make is quite suited for off-road driving as well as urban roads.
2018 Ford Territory – Sportier than Ever
The 2018 Ford Territory will launch with a lot of design changes to the earlier versions. The SUV will look sportier and more stylish than before with the introduction of more angular side windows. However, the horizontal chrome bars have been added to both front and rear bumpers. It will still retain the elongated pentagonal grille that most Ford vehicles have. Air vents have been increased for better cooling of the engine.
Theater style design of the seats makes the back rows higher than those in the front. Also, the back rows of seats can be folded to increase the cabin space. The LED lights as headlights and taillights along with sharp fog lights should provide a safe driving experience at night and bad weather.
The vehicle has been designed to be more aerodynamic. Durable and materials of reduced weight have been used for the body and interiors. One will see advanced carbon fiber and lightweight aluminum surfaces. The reduced weight of materials will provide more stability and improved fuel efficiency to the SUV.
Interior and Security
Not much change has been made in the interior of the 2018 Ford Territory. For a comfortable driving experience to users, the vehicle will have soft cushions and seats, and leather floor cover. The console will be dominated by an 8-inch touchscreen for basic controls and infotainment.
The Ford’s popular SYNC2 infotainment utility system is most likely to be used. It includes a voice recognition facility for navigation, music control and an HVAC enabled weather control. Other features like GPRS, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 port, and Wi-Fi are obvious additions.
As in previous models, rear passengers will have the luxury of a roof-mounted 10 inch LCD screen for multimedia viewing.
The stylish new SUV will have auto parking receptors, seatbelt alarms, auto-window control and top-class airbags. A program auto-window function will probably be the most welcome feature of the new Territory as the previous models lacked this feature.
2018 Ford Territory – Powertrain
The 2018 Ford territory will be mounted with a 2.7-liter V6 engine with a typical power output of 395 HP. This engine will come with an 8-speed auto transmission gear. It is also rumored that another variant of the SUV will have a turbocharged hybrid powertrain with 477 HP of power. The fuel efficient V6 engine should provide an average of around 26 mpg of fuel economy.
Launch and Pricing
Expect to get hold of 2018 Ford Territory trucks by early 2018. It is likely to be priced at around $30,000 as per predictions and previous model trends. The variants would be either a two-row five seater or a three-row seven seater. The rival in the class will be Toyota RAV4.
