2018 Ford Mondeo Facelift
The popular Company is ready to introduce new facelifted 2018 Ford Mondeo. The Ford Motor Company has always delivered a variety of masterpieces in various car segments such as SUVs, sedans and luxury cars. In 1992, the Ford challenged the market limits by delivering a mid-sized sedan at a small executive car’s price, in the form of the Mondeo.
2018 Ford Mondeo – The new and Improved Sedan
For many years, the Ford only sold Mondeo in Europe. It was only until a couple of years ago Ford launched this mid-size sedan in the U.S market under the brand name ‘Fusion’. The Ford Mondeo had some design quality issues and 2018 Ford Mondeo looks to put those issues to bed. This update will be quite similar to 2017 Ford Fusion.
Its design will mostly remain same. Lines on its body and its color variants also remain unchanged. Its front end will be revamped like Ford Fusion. A sleeker grille, slimmer headlamps, and a new bumper might come as standard. The tail lamps and exhaust might undergo changes as well. Its sports model will have larger wheels, unique colors and a sportier look.
The only minor changes have been made to the cabin layout. There will be a rev-counter having a touch screen LCD display on each side. These screens will display the speed, navigation directions, fuel consumption, etc.
2018 Ford Mondeo – Engine Specs
This automobile is likely to sport the same engine as current make.
- A 1.5 liter and 2-liter variants may deliver up to 180 hp and 240 hp respectively.
The base models of the vehicle are said to have 6-speed manual transmission (with an added option for automatic transmission) and the Sports variant will have an automatic one. The new Ford Mondeo will have a top speed of 130 mph and can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 6 seconds.
2018 Ford Mondeo – Price, Release Date and Competitions
There has been no disclosure regarding the price. However, a hefty increase in price can be expected. The premium models like the Vignale and ST may be priced more than $40,000. The car is likely to hit the streets somewhere around the summer of 2018.
The focus has been laid on high-speed performance and not the fuel economy. The Volkswagen Passat, Audi A4, BMW 520d will be main competitors.
With stiff competition from rival brands and average performances of its previous makes, the 2018 Ford Mondeo automobile certainly has its work cut out for it.
