The popular manufacturer is working on the new version of 2018 Ford Focus RS500. With an almost perfect chassis and a rally inspired look, this vehicle is set to hit the premium hatchback market with ease. Expected to be lighter and easier to grip and corner, this new vehicle will offer tighter suspension. The new RS500 might be added to the Ford portfolio as flagship ‘hot-hatch’. With this, Ford intends to compete with Audi and BMW.
2018 Ford Focus RS – Appearance From Outside
Sharing its looks with the Ford Fiesta RS version, the 2018 Ford Focus RS might sport a new hood and body carvings. The air vents are specially designed to help dissipate the heat from the large engine. Based on Ford’s compact platform made especially for hatchbacks, this vehicle might present the same fascia but with minor improvements. Body-colored spoilers aim to provide better stability and additional down force.
From the Inside
Although Ford has not yet unveiled the exact interior specifications for the 2018 Ford Focus RS, it’s expected to share some of it from Fiesta RS. The rear sheets have been also removed to reduce weight. The vehicle also installs more sporty seats in its place. However, to make it sportier, flat bottomed steering wheels might replace the current set of wheels. With a fully digital console to take care of the infotainment, Ford Focus RS 2018 is made to compromise cabin for an improved performance.

The Ford has been constantly trying to improve powertrain of its hatchbacks, viz. Ford Fiesta RS with new powerful engines. Likewise 2018 Ford Focus RS also receives a new set of engines which will improve the fuel economy of this vehicle and offer a power-packed performance.
The 2.3 liters turbocharged four cylinders EcoBoost attempts to churn out an excess of 350 HP and 350 lb-ft. Although it’s not yet confirmed, but Ford might introduce this vehicle in an AWD for better grip on the road. Rumors are on that Ford Focus RS might also receive a 2.5 liters version of the vehicle. Although nothing is confirmed yet, the Ford expects to offer more than 400 HP with this engine. Equipped with a 6-speed auto transmission and the dual clutch, a better transmission might be made available on a limited version model. Expecting to hit the top speed of 167 MPH, this blazingly fast vehicle might accelerate from 0-60 mph in a meager 4.3 seconds. The automatic transmission and optional higher capacity engine might rev up acceleration even further, according to Ford.
2018 Ford Focus RS – Competitors, Price and Release Date
A noisier Subaru STI offers tight competition to Focus RS. In terms of driving pleasure, the Subaru offers more sporty feeling than Focus, but the latter is smoother and easier to control. Expected to hit US market for the first time this year, the 2018 Ford Focus RS might come at a price tag of $36,775 for the standard package.
