The Ford F-150 Tremor is a sports truck capable of turning heads on the street. Over the years, some major brands have emerged as outright winners in the international automobile circuit. A trusted brand in the automobile sector is Ford. Over the years, this U.S based multinational automobile manufacturer has delivered top of the line cars, SUVs, and trucks. This stylish truck is limited edition and is well designed and powerful. It comes equipped with a 4 wheel drive in addition to features such as power adjusted pedals, HID headlamps and exterior decals. The FX package is an appealing factor with features such as leather sports seats, tubular running boards, etc.
Ford F-150 Tremor – Body Design and Features
Despite the cab body, this Ford F-150 Tremor is quite refreshingly truncated. The exterior graphics look tasteful and massive wheels provide this vehicle a wicked appearance.
The cockpit offers a panoramic street view. A-pillars provided are quite minimal and sight lines are more than generous. This 2-seater, 4-wheel drive is tall and provides ample boot space. On the left spoke of the steering wheel is a control pad (5-way). Single zone system for climate control is easy to operate. The buttons help in directing air flow as needed and knobs are provided to adjust fan speed and temperature.
Ford F-150 Tremor – Engine and Important Features
The engine that powers this truck is an Ecoboost V6 engine with a capacity of 3.5-liters. This engine can deliver a daunting HP of 365 and a torque of 420 lb-ft. This engine is a blend of V8 output capabilities of along with high mileage of a V6. However, the only gearbox that will be available is a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Ford claims fuel economy of this powerful beast to be 21 MPG on the highway, 15 MPG in the city (a combined fuel economy of 17 MPG).
There is no need to wind this Ecoboost V6 engine to get going. Its traction control prevents the tires from being roasted and seems quite necessary. The automatic transmission (6-speed) changes the gears smoothly and downshifts with minimal fuss.
Its axle ratio is 4.10. The mileage of 17 MPG is decent enough. The Ford F-150 Tremor, however, lacks the grunt of a typical sports truck. Also, the steering is nicely weighted and feels sturdy. The ride isn’t sturdy and the slightest of bumps causes the vehicle body to quiver. Perhaps, this is the source of origin of this automobile’s name.
Ford F-150 Tremor – Price, Competition and Verdict
The F-150 Tremor is priced at a lavish $44,145 (inclusive of a destination fee of $1,195). The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71, RAM 1500 will compete with a new model.
The Ford F-150 Tremor offers good ground clearance, spacious interiors, and a decent fuel economy. The vehicle looks premium but doesn’t feel sturdy. However, since its price is more than 44 grand, this pickup truck isn’t one for everyone.
