The latest additions to the Mustang family are the 2018 Ford Mustang Convertible and the Ford Mustang Coupe. Sleek design, innovative technology, unmatched power and an exhilarating driving experience have made the Mustang, one of the most successful franchises of Ford. Launched in the 1960s, this upscale model has seen a variety of different variants and models over the years. The one factor that has remained unchanged, however, is the immense success it has relished over the decades.
2018 Ford Mustang Convertible – Fantastic Appearance
The design of the 2018 Ford Mustang Convertible is along the same lines as the Mustang Coupe. The front end has been restyled with new angled headlamps, lowered hood and a new grill shape. Other features include a digital gauge cluster and safety features such as pre-collision assisting system, active exhaust in order to customize sound and MagneRide suspension.
However, some of the top safety features are electronic stability controls, traction control, side impact airbag, LED sequenced tail lights, all wheel disk brakes with an anti-lock system. Also, the features include modern air conditioning, HID (High Intensity) automatic headlamps, alloy wheels, leather seats with a heating system, navigation system, satellite radio, leather-made steering wheel having audio and cruise control, etc.
The announcement about the new Mustang Convertible was made days after the new Mustang Coupe was announced. The Mustang convertible is also one of the America’s top-selling sports cars. Most of the features in the convertible are borrowed from the coupe which was launched by Dwayne Johnson aka ‘The Rock’.
2018 Ford Mustang Convertible – Engine Specs
The V6 engine has now been dropped altogether. There are two choices available:
- Ford’s very own 2.3 liter V4 (four-cylinder) turbocharged EcoBoost engine
- A powerful 5 liter 8 cylinder (V8) engine.
The output of the engine will get channeled via ten-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual one. The upgrade made to the automatic transmission will also allow increased torque capabilities and greater efficiency in clutch modulation.
2018 Ford Mustang Convertible – Price, Release Date and Final Verdict
Finally, the upcoming Ford Mustang Convertible will be priced $1000-$2000 more than the current model’s price of $31,585. The car could be out in the market by the fall of 2017. The new Ford Mustang Coupe will also be released along with the same timelines.
The mustang appeals to a huge fan base. The improved design and the new 10-speed automatic suspension add to the purchase value. The 2018 Ford Mustang Convertible is aggressive but classy and may be one of the best selling cars in this segment.
