2018 Lincoln MKC Review, Engine Specifications
The 2018 Lincoln MKC is one of the most highly anticipated cars that is going to be released next year. The MKC has a reputation of being manufactured with the same level of quality that comes with all luxury Lincoln vehicles but at a much affordable price. The crossover car is designed to give drivers the SUV road experience while still have an affordable and economic drive.
2018 Lincoln MKC – Platform and Design:
Although official details have not been released yet, the few photos of the 2018 MKC that have surfaced on the Internet show an only slight modification to the exterior and interior. It appears that the exterior won’t change so much and it still has the same size and build. So, it will still be suitable for families of all size. The grille design is the biggest change that the exterior has gone through, going from the traditional “winged” side panels to a single piece “meshed” design with the Lincoln logo right in the center. The entire design looks much sleeker and a lot cooler.
The interior isn’t anticipated to change as much also. It will probably have the same-tiered package system that comes with the current MKC models, that lets buyers choose increasingly luxurious models. The standard features that are currently available in the MKC include electric power steering, cruise control, front and rear sensors, rearview camera, and destination guidance.
2018 Lincoln MKC – Engine Specifications:
Ford recently invested close to 5 billion dollars into Lincoln in order to make the luxury American car company compete with its European counterparts, such as BMW or Mercedes-Benz. The effects of that investment can definitely be seen with the MKC. Under the hood, the 2018 Lincoln MKC has a 2.0 liter, four-cylinder turbocharged, twin engine with direct fuel injection that gives it a performance boost that lets it compete with vehicles like the BMW X1 or the Mercedes-Benz GLA. It’s a 6-speed automatic car that comes in both front wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). Both the FWD and the AWD engines are fitted with Ford’s Eco Boost system, which limits greenhouse gas emissions by about 15%. The FWD model features 240 hp while the AWD model features 285 hp. It is estimated that the 2018 Lincoln MKC will receive about 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The AWD will receive about 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
2018 Lincoln MKC – Estimated Cost and Availability:
The starting price for the 2018 Lincoln MKC is expected to be around $33,260 (this is based on pricing trends from the previous MKC models). The MKC is offered in three different packages, priced at $33,260, $37,090, and $40,060. Many of the features that the current MKC comes with are not standard so with those upgrades, you will probably end up paying a price closer to the range of $4000 – $6000 dollars. Many of the exterior colors are not considered “standard” either and will require an additional cost if you will want your vehicle in that color.
Based on the dates that the previous MKC models have been, it’s expected that the 2018 Lincoln MKC will have a release date sometime in the earlier half of 2017, maybe closer towards the start of the calendar year. It’s a highly anticipated release and we’re all excited to see what it looks and drives like.
