The Ford Escape was launched first in 2000 year and now is in its third generation. The compact CUV comes with awesome body features and reliable performance. A new model, the 2018 Ford Escape, is being constructed and will be available for sale soon. The upcoming car is expected to come with enhanced designs and innovative technologies.

2018 Ford Escape – Changes and Updates:

The American automobile manufacturer has already hinted at the use of the Global C platform to build its new CUV. This platform is used in the Ford Kuga, so expect some similarities between the two vehicles. The entire exterior will be revamped to look more sophisticated and modern. There will be sleek lines and curves on the entire body.

The front end of 2018 Ford Escape will spot a two-slat hexagonal grille, the brand-new headlights, and small-sized air intakes. The major highlight on the sides will be windows with acoustic glass. In the rear end, the upcoming mid-size SUV will get LED headlights, a stylish bumper, and a refreshed exhaust system. Concerning the interior, 2018 Ford Escape will be designed to accommodate 5 passengers. There will be enough space for the occupants and their luggage. The cabin will also get superior materials like leather, aluminum, wood and soft fabric. A more functional steering wheel will be installed to improve the driving experience.

Technology wise, the new Escape will get a Sync 3 infotainment system, an updated GPS navigation system, a climate control system and a premium sound system. You can anticipate for other technological features such as USB ports, Smartphone app integration, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Ford will not leave anything to chance when it comes to making 2018 Ford Escape safe and secure. The compact crossover will be equipped with features such as rear electronic camera, cruise control, basic sensors, guests alarm, seatbelts, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, airbags and parking assist.

There will be three engine options for the new Ford CUV. The main engine will be a 1.6-L I4 rated at 186 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Another engine option will be a 2.5-L I4 with a capacity of 178 hp and 168 lb-ft. The last engine choice will be a 3.5-L V6 capable of generating 365 hp and 350 lb-ft. All the engines will be connected to a 6-speed automatic gearbox system.

According to the carmaker, the powertrains will get upgrades that will improve fuel economy and environment friendliness. The car is expected to record around 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The emission rates will be less compared to the outgoing model.

The new Escape will be rivaled by these similar vehicles: Subaru Forester, Honda CR-V, Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Santa Fe, Chevrolet Equinox, Nissan Rogue, Mitsubishi Outlander, Jeep Compass, Toyota RAV4 and Acura RDX.

2018 Ford Escape – When Will Hit the Showrooms:

You can expect the new Escape to come with a starting price of $23,000. The premium models will retail at higher prices, so expect to pay more to own them. Concerning the release date, the new Ford compact crossover will start selling at the end of 2017 or early in 2018.
